Indigo Checkerboard : Dabu Hand Block Printed Cotton Bedsheet with Pillow Covers, Queen 90″ x 108″

Description

Dabu is a slow process. The pattern is block printed onto the cloth in a paste of clay and natural gum, the sheet is dipped in indigo, and the paste is then washed away to leave the design standing out in pale blue and white.

As the clay dries it cracks, and the dye seeps into those cracks. This leaves the fine veining you can see across the print, and no two sheets carry quite the same marks.

The base cloth is 100% cotton, light and breathable.
